Former NBA player Ben Gordon was arrested during a car stop in Manhattan on Sunday night for driving with a forged license plate, according to police via Tina Moore and Daniel Prendergast of The New York Post.

Gordon was pulled over near the corner of West 129th Street and Frederick Douglass Boulevard around 9 p.m. A police officer revised the car’s Florida license plate and realized the expiration date in the registration was different than the one displayed on Gordon's vehicle.

The 34-year-old was consequently arrested and given a desk appearance ticket, which spells a consequent court date to settle the matter in the near future, according to local officials.

A former Sixth Man of the Year winner, Gordon last played for the Dallas Mavericks’ G League affiliate Texas Legends earlier this year.

Gordon has also been arrested two other times this year — the most recent one in October, when he barricaded himself inside his own Mount Vernon store after getting into it with a woman.

Local police freed the woman by cutting a hole in the window, later finding Gordon was hiding in the bathroom with a knife.

The troubled former Connecticut standout was also arrested in June for triggering fire alarms inside his Los Angeles apartment, after police had found no fire upon response. Gordon failed to appear in court at his arraignment later in June and the judge issued a bench warrant for his arrest.

After winning the Sixth Man award in his rookie season, Gordon had four other successful seasons with the Chicago Bulls, who drafted him with the third overall pick in 2004. After a three-year stint with the Detroit Pistons saw his role decrease, his last two stops with the Charlotte Bobcats and the Orlando Magic spelled the end of his NBA career, averaging under double-digits scoring.

Gordon last played in the NBA during the 2014-15 season, registering 56 appearances off the bench for the Magic.
