Detroit Pistons star Blake Griffin has weighed in on the controversy surrounding New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees. According to Griffin, Brees and the Saints should sign Colin Kaepernick to truly make amends for the insensitive comments earlier blurted out by the New Orleans star quarterback.

Griffin took to Twitter to propose his rather revolutionary idea:

Brees was on the receiving end of a ton of backlash after he earlier revealed how he could not support anyone who disrespected the flag. This was in reference to Kaepernick and his symbolic knee during national anthems. This act of defiance eventually led to Keapernick's career taking a turn for the worse, and to this very day, no NFL team is willing to touch him with a ten-foot pole. In Blake Griffin's mind, though, now would be a perfect time for the Saints to make a statement against social injustice by signing the talented, yet embattled Kaepernick.

For his part, Brees issued an apology for his earlier statement. He admitted the insensitivity of his message and also accepted all responsibility for the same. This did little to appears the hoards of angered and offended individuals across the nation. Nonetheless, some folks like NBA legend Charles Barkley were willing to accept Brees' apology based off of the latter's previously untainted reputation.

As for Griffin, he seems to be open to a reconciliation — somewhat. He does have a pretty demanding condition that will need to be satisfied before he is able to put all this behind him, though.
