Portland Trail Blazers stars CJ McCollum and Carmelo Anthony were recording a podcast when they found out the NBA was suspending the season.

Utah Jazz All-Star center Rudy Gobert tested positive for the coronavirus on Wednesday, with his teammate Donovan Mitchell getting the bad news on Thursday.

The NBA season will be on hold for at least the next 30 days, but everyone inside league circles knows it's going to be longer than that.

The 2020 NBA playoffs were set to begin in April. Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban believes the season could start up again in July or August, but if that happens, then the 2020 NBA Draft, Olympics and Summer League would all be affected on the basketball schedule.

CJ and Melo's Blazers are 29-37 on the season. If the season does resume, Portland will be in the ninth spot in the NBA's Western Conference standings. The Blazers have some work to do if they want to make the playoffs again after reaching the 2019 Western Conference Finals.

It would be really sad if the 2019-20 NBA season is over. After all, 2020 has been just awful for basketball fans as whole.

The tragic deaths of Kobe Bryant and David Stern are still on the minds of NBA fans. Now, this suspension has just made the beginning of 2020 terrible in all aspects.
