Several outlets have already confirmed the tragic passing of Kentucky standout Terrence Clarke on Thursday after being involved in a car accident in Los Angeles. Players from around the NBA have learned about the fatal accident and some of them have taken to social media to share their reactions to the news.

As expected, the general sentiment has been a state of shock for stars like Bradley Beal and Donovan Mitchell on Twitter:

Clarke was reportedly leaving practice when he met the accident. Kentucky teammate BJ Boston was also with him during the incident but was in a separate vehicle. The details of the accident remain unclear at this point, but it was also reported that Clarke died as he was being rushed to a nearby hospital.

This is indeed some very dreadful news and it has been met by disbelief by other players in the NBA:

Clarke, 19, spent the previous season with the Wildcats as a freshman. A leg injury cut his season short as he was only able to suit up for eight games for Kentucky. The 6-foot-7 guard produced 9.6 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in 28.6 minutes of action.

Clarke recently declared for the 2021 Draft. Given his athleticism and NBA-ready frame, the general consensus was that he was going to get selected somewhere in the middle or towards the latter part of the first round.

This is a tragic development for a young man who had a very bright future ahead of him. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Terrence Clarke.
