Three of the four members of the NBA's renowned Banana Boat Crew have launched the Social Change Fund. The fund, spearheaded by Portland Trail Blazers forward Carmelo Anthony, Oklahoma City Thunder guard Chris Paul, and retired Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade, aims to invest in and help organizations that support communities of color with policy solutions, community representation, and narrative change.

This is an incredible effort from the part of the three good pals. Obviously, the world still has a ton of work to do in terms of fixing social injustice and inequality. It's good to see Anthony, Wade, and Paul get together for a worthy cause that will surely go a long way in addressing these pressing societal issues.

The three NBA stars expressed their excitement for their collaboration on their own respective social media accounts:

This isn't the first time that Melo, Wade, and CP3 got together for something like this. Back in 2016, the three, along with the remaining member of Team Banana Boat, Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James, spoke during the ESPYS and gave a powerful message about Black Lives Matter.

The United States has been up in arms about racial injustice following the death of George Floyd. Since then, the NBA has played a huge part in becoming a voice and raising awareness.

The NBA will resume later this month as the 22 teams settle down in the Disney World bubble in Orlando, Florida. The league has made sure to give players the opportunity to use the restart as a platform to raise awareness on these social issues.
