The 2020-21 NBA season is set to tip-off on Thursday night on TNT, with the Golden State Warriors and the Brooklyn Nets playing the first game. During the pre-game tip-off show on TNT, Charley Barkley didn't take long to make a bold guarantee for the Eastern Conference playoffs.

Ahead of the upcoming season, many people believe the Milwaukee Bucks are going to finish as the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference. In addition, teams like the Brooklyn Nets, Boston Celtics, Toronto Raptors, and the Miami Heat have been labeled as NBA playoff contenders.

Therefore, the bottom two or three spots in the Eastern Conference could be up for grabs from multiple teams. While there is uncertainty among plenty of teams, Barkley believes the Atlanta Hawks and the Washington Wizards will make the NBA playoffs in the Eastern Conference.

Of course, the Hawks have Trae Young and have added talented players around him during the offseason. Altogether, Atlanta now fields a roster with Young, Kevin Huerter, Bogdan Bogdanovic, Cam Reddish, Danilo Gallinari, John Collins and Clint Capela.

With that being said, the Hawks have missed the playoffs in the past three seasons, compiling a 20-47 record in 2019-20.

On the other hand, the Wizards have replaced John Wall with Russell Westbrook, giving Bradley Beal another All-Star point guard to work with.

Washington has fallen short of making the postseason in the past two campaigns, putting together a 25-47 record last season. Even though they aren't favorites to make noise in the NBA playoffs, Charles Barkley seems confident that the Hawks and the Wizards will advance to the postseason this time around.
