NBA legend Charles Barkley is not happy with what Chicago Bulls icon Scottie Pippen is doing–not for his shots at him but rather for “burning bridges.”

Pippen has been on the headlines as of late for his rather controversial takes on various people he has a history with, particularly Phil Jackson and ex-teammate Michael Jordan. The 55-year-old accused Jackson of being “racist,” while adding that he never really had a friendship or off-court relationship with MJ.

Of course, Barkley didn't escape Pippen's tirade as the six-time NBA champion criticized him for being a fake tough guy. For what it's worth, Sir Chuck and Scottie played together for one season with the Houston Rockets, but that partnership obviously did not work out.

Amid Pippen's controversial takes, Barkley spoke on the Dan Patrick Show and shared his disappointment with Pippen. While he is just laughing off what his fellow NBA legend said about him, he is just equally shocked as the rest of us on Pippen's comments on Jackson and Jordan.

“I’m disappointed in Scottie because he’s burning every bridge,” Barkley said, via Larry Brown Sports. “I know he has a book coming out. Listen, Scottie was a very good player. I’ve always liked Scottie too. I’ve always liked him. I’ve never had a disagreement or an argument with him.

“But he’s taking shots at me, and I’m just laughing. Because I'm like ‘Yo man, you do know we’re like 60 years old? We don’t have beefs any more. We're like 60. What we accomplished was 30 years ago. It's not important or significant. It was great in the day, but now it's irrelevant.' So I was disappointed he's taking shots at Michael [Jordan], Phil Jackson, and myself. But I understand he’s got a book coming out. I just think it’s silly and stupid to be honest with you.”

Charles Barkley does have a point, as Scottie Pippen seems to be too focused on promoting his book no matter what the consequences are in the end. After all, he's basically pushing people away–from his former teammates and those whom many thought he has a good relationship with.

Then again, Pippen's comments might just really be a ploy to help his book gain traction. It is titled “Unguarded,” so he is likely just staying on brand to build the hype around its release. However, the question is: will it be worth it for the NBA icon?
