The Los Angeles Lakers made a flurry of moves this offseason that catapulted them back to contender status. However, NBA legend Charles Barkley thinks one team had a better offseason than them: the Chicago Bulls.

Speaking with Waddle & Silvy of ESPN Chicago, Barkley expressed his belief that the Bulls are now more than capable of making the playoffs with their recent roster additions.

“I'll be totally shocked if they don't make the playoffs. And I'm not just saying this … I think it's fair to say the Chicago Bulls have had the best offseason in the NBA,” the NBA icon explained, per Nick Friedell of ESPN.

The Bulls acquired DeMar DeRozan via sign-and-trade in free agency, while also bringing in former Lakers players in Lonzo Ball and Kyle Kuzma. While they may have paid a lot to bring the three to Windy City, Charles Barkley is right that the team has improved significantly heading to the 2021-22 season.

It is also worth noting that the Bulls barely missed the play-in tournament last season, finishing 11th with a 31-41 record. Now that they have a better roster, the expectations are they'll be making a huge jump. As Barkley said, it's easy to see them compete for a playoffs spot in the Eastern Conference.

Then again, the Lakers might have a case for the team with the best NBA offseason. After all, not only did they trade for Russell Westbrook, but they also got the likes of Carmelo Anthony, Dwight Howard, Kendrick Nunn, Trevor Ariza and more for cheap.
