The 2018 NBA All-Star game will involve an entirely new format, where the top vote recipients can select their own players to form their teams. Stephen Curry and LeBron James ended up with the most votes and became team captains. Therefore, the hype attached to the much anticipated game reached an all-time high.

Unfortunately, the game kicked off t a bad start before it even began. Music star Fergie was chosen to sing the National Anthem, and it turned out that she did a horrible job. Charles Barkley, who apparently witnessed the entire redention wasn't too pleased either.

Rightfully so, social media ate Fergie up about her awful National Anthem performance. For the sake of informing everyone on what an ideal performance looks like, singers and artists usually sing or play what the Anthem sounds like and add their own flavor.

In Ferdie's case, she was somewhat too creative in her redition. It didn't help that the NBA's greatest troll and critic happened to catch the whole performance.  Though, when Barkley attempted to go at Fergie, Shaquille O'Neal quickly shut him down.

Kenny Smith seemed to agree that the performance was horrible with Barkley, and the Phoenix Suns legend commented that he needed to take a cigarette after the performance.

Granted, no one usually comes to a game to hear a celebrity sing the National Anthem.  Therefore, there shouldn't really be a fuss about how Fergie did. Nonetheless, in the social media driven social that is present today, blunders such as these rarely go unnoticed.
