Anthony Davis' performance in the 2020 NBA Finals has inspired some debate about whether The Brow is the best teammate LeBron James has had in his career.

Former NBA big man Kendrick Perkins said after Game 1 he felt Davis is the best player to ever team with LeBron. Or, at least, Perkins thinks AD complements LeBron better than Wade did:

Of course, LeBron has had some incredible teammates in the past, including Dwyane Wade, who will go down as arguably one of the best 2-guards in NBA history.

But Wade actually agreed with Perkins' assessment:

Former players and analysts have lauded Davis' ability to complement James on both ends of the floor.

Chris Bosh — who also played with LeBron — agrees Davis complements King James well, but he explained why he believes Dwyane Wade is still LBJ's best NBA teammate:

“But as far as ranking teammates, it’s tough to rank,” Bosh said, via Alex Wong of Complex. “You know who I’m going to choose. It’s Dwyane Wade for me, because Dwyane said, LeBron, you need to be the guy, you’re the No. 1 option, and I’ll figure everything out, you just go ahead and be comfortable being who you are. On top of that, just the effect they had on the game, I’ve never seen anybody do what they did. The steals. The lobs. The dunks. You could play highlights of those two forever. That stuff is classic. I haven’t seen anything like that before or after. As far as I’m concerned, that’s how I feel. Dwyane was a great complement to him. Just cue the highlights.

Indeed, Wade was the one to say James should take the lead in Miami after the Heat lost the 2011 NBA Finals to the Dallas Mavericks.

The Heat subsequently won consecutive NBA titles, with Wade playing a very capable Robin to James' Batman.

Interestingly enough, James has often made it a mission to assert Davis as the No. 1 option in L.A. this season, with the Lakers looking to leverage his multidimensional skill set.

Los Angeles will look for both James and Davis to have big games as it hopes to close out the Heat in Game 5 on Friday night.
