In an effort to bring light to social injustices around the globe, most NBA players are planning to display unique messages on their jerseys as the season resumes inside the Orlando bubble. However, some players are choosing to forgo this opportunity, including stars like LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Jimmy Butler and Joel Embiid.

As part of a recent interview with Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated, Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Chris Paul commented on the decisions of these NBA stars:

“That’s exactly why we have a league where you get a chance to make a choice,” Paul said. “And I respect any of those guys’ decisions. They may have their reasons why or not.

“For me … I was excited about the opportunity to speak on ‘Equality’ because I was asked about it. And also, for me, I envisioned my kids watching the game, my homies back home who go to the barbershops and talk about us and whatnot.”

Though he isn't going to have any message on his jersey, James has stated that he will use his platform to shed light on social injustice during the NBA bubble campaign:

“I will not stop until I see real change for us, for all people of color,” James said in a recent interview with ESPN. “I will continue to push the envelope and continue to keep my foot on the gas on creating real change for us.”

Sometimes, James writes a subtle message on the shoes that he wears during games. “More than an athlete,” for instance. He'll likely continue with that tradition, but look for The King to be more outspoken on these issues as this NBA season progresses, and he's already making a major impact with his new voting rights initiative. He'll surely make plenty of noise on social media as well.
