Just recently, whispers began to emerge pertaining to a power struggle within the National Basketball Players Association. According to the rumor, there was a plot to overthrow NBPA executive director Michele Roberts — something that NBPA president Chris Paul completely denied through an official statement.

Paul appears to be doing his best to try and nip this nasty rumor in the bud by showing his full support for Michele Roberts. Nevertheless, as the saying goes, where's there's smoke there's fire, so it's hard not to think that there must be more to this narrative than meets the eye. More updates should surface about this intriguing story within the next few days, and we will be sure to pass along any information as they come.

As for his basketball, however, Chris Paul has actually been doing quite well for his new team this season, all things considered. The 34-year-old veteran is currently averaging 15.4 points (on 44.9 percent shooting), 4.3 rebounds, 6.1 assists, and 1.6 steals, while also knocking down 1.5 3-pointers per ballgame on a 35.9-percent clip.

The Thunder are currently 11-13 and are well within the Playoffs picture in a ruthless Western Conference. Paul has been able to remain healthy throughout the season, and has started all 24 games for OKC. Nevertheless, it remains no secret that the nine-time All-Star is still hoping to be traded to a contender within the season, so it would not be surprising if we see him in a different uniform sooner rather than later.
