The NBA, NBPA, and ESPN have finalized the matchups of the H-O-R-S-E competition that will take place on Sunday, April 12 at 7 p.m. ET. Ten-time All-Star Chris Paul and first-time All-Star Trae Young headline the set of active NBA players who will participate while former stars Paul Pierce and Chauncey Billups will join the show, according to ESPN.

Chicago Bulls shooting guard Zach LaVine, soon-to-be Hall of Famer Tamika Catchings, three-time WNBA All-Star Allie Quigley of the Chicago Sky, and Utah Jazz guard Mike Conley Jr. will join the aforementioned, matching shots against one another in a single-elimination HORSE competition. Contestants will participate from their respective, isolated home courts.

The quarterfinal groups are as follows:

State Farm will donate more than $200,000 on behalf of the participants to charities that will aid coronavirus response efforts. The NBA has already contributed over $74 million to support coronavirus relief efforts through the NBA Together campaign.

The eight participants will be divided into two groups of four, with the winners of the first two games in each group to meet in the semifinals.  The winner from each group will move on to the championship round.

The four quarterfinal games will take place on Sunday and the semifinals and the championship game will air on Thursday, April 16, beginning at 9 p.m. ET.

A coin toss at the start of each game will determine which contestant will shoot first, as the senior player will call heads or tails.  Players must first describe each shot attempt, like a bank shot or swish, or the use of either hand. Dunking is not allowed.

The first player to accumulate the letters “H-O-R-S-E” after failing to match five shots will be eliminated from the competition, with no chance to return.
