Los Angeles Clippers head coach Doc Rivers, one of the more well-known coaching figures in sports, has made his first comments about the NBA suspending the season because of the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.

Per Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints, Rivers reposted a message from Rich Kleiman, who is Brooklyn Nets superstar small forward Kevin Durant's business partner:

Everything involving the coronavirus and the NBA happened so quickly.

First, the NBA sent out a memo telling teams to use fist-bumps instead of high-fives. That was followed by another memo alerting teams they might have to start playing games with no fans.

The NBA then banned the media from the locker room before the Golden State Warriors announced they were going to play the first empty arena game against the Brooklyn Nets. Then the end result happened with the NBA suspending the season as a whole after Rudy Gobert tested positive for COVID-19.

Rivers and the Clippers notched the second-best record in the Western Conference before the NBA shut the season down. The Clippers are 44-20 on the season, trailing only the Los Angeles Lakers, the team they are 2-1 against.

No one really knows if the NBA season is going to start up again. League officials are expected to keep the hiatus for at least one month.
