The Westgate SuperBook in Las Vegas has come up with their latest edition of the upcoming season's title odds following the first few days of the preseason. The Los Angeles Clippers are at the top of the pack, and after a highly impressive opening win in their first preseason game, the Los Angeles Lakers are in the No. 2 slot:

The Lakers made easy work of the Golden State Warriors on Saturday, handily defeating Stephen Curry and company, 123-101. New recruit Anthony Davis led the way for the Purple & Gold, logging 22 points (on 9-of-16 shooting), 10 rebounds, two assists, and a steal in just 18 minutes of play. LeBron James was not bad himself, accounting for 15 points (on 5-of-10 from the field), three rebounds, eight assists, and a steal, playing in only the first half of the contest.

The Lakers were very impressive in their opening game, and chemistry within the revamped squad was already evident. If they are able to build on this, then the Lakers should be making a lot of noise this season.

Despite their huge win against a formidable Warriors side, the Lakers were unable to dethrone their crosstown rivals, the Clippers, from being the odds-on favorite to go all the way this season. The bookmakers are still very high on the pairing of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, and they seem to believe that this team has what it takes to win it all.
