Minnesota Timberwolves point guard D'Angelo Russell wants to see the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers play a seven-game series on ESPN after the 2020 NBA Finals end at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

The Clippers lost to the Denver Nuggets in the second round of the playoffs, preventing the all-L.A. Western Conference Finals matchup between the Clips and Lakers that many predicted prior to the season.

Russell, who began his NBA career with the Lakers, says fans still want to see Kawhi Leonard, Paul George and the Clippers face LeBron James, Anthony Davis and the Lakers.

This obviously won't happen, but nevertheless, it's an interesting idea from D'Angelo Russell, whose Timberwolves have the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft.

The Clippers and Lakers met four times during the 2019-20 regular season. The Clippers won the first two games, with the Lakers taking the final two. All signs pointed toward the two teams meeting in the Western Conference Finals.

However, the Clippers choked against the Nuggets in the second round. Doc Rivers' squad had a 3-1 series lead on Denver and still found a way to lose.

Leonard had a terrrific series, but he was awful in Game 7, as was George. Neither NBA All-Star scored in the fourth quarter and George hit the top of the backboard on one of his 3-point attempts.

The Lakers are 9-2 in the 2020 playoffs after defeating the Nuggets in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals. James and Davis are playing spectacular and it looks like the Lakers could win the 2020 NBA championship since both the Clippers and Milwaukee Bucks are out of the postseason.
