NBA Legend Dennis Rodman found a great way to greet his fellow Hall of Famer Magic Johnson on his 60th birthday.

Rodman is talking about the 1988 NBA Finals where the Detroit Pistons lost to the Los Angeles Lakers in seven games. The rebounding machine was a member of the losing team at that time, but he already showed flashes of becoming an elite defender. However, Rodman saying that he shut Magic down is a bit of an exaggeration on his side, as the latter averaged 21 points on 55 percent shooting from the field in the series. He also averaged 13 assists per game.

There were times when Rodman had his moments against Johnson, but it wasn't enough as Magic led the Lakers to their second straight title.

The Lakers and the Pistons had one of the most intense and physical rivalries during the late 80s. They faced each other twice and the Finals and each had a win over the other. Things would've continued if it wasn't for Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls spoiling everything in 1991.

Still, all is good between the two competitors who are now good friends off the court. They each made a name for themselves during their NBA careers, with Magic being widely recognized as the NBA's greatest point guard of All-Time while Rodman has claimed the title as the league's greatest rebounder.

And what's good about all of this is that they each had multiple championships to cement their credentials, and that's something that can never be taken away from them.
