In his rookie campaign, Utah Jazz Donovan Mitchell took the league by storm, helping him quickly establish himself as one of the rising young stars in the league.

Much of this was fueled behind his continued offensive success as he became the Jazz's clear-cut top scoring option as the season wore on with the more experience he gathered.

According to D.J. Foster of the Ringer, this saw Mitchell be among the best finishers at the rim through contact that was better than some of the league's previous best players such as LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Kyrie Irving, and Tony Parker.

 Mitchell’s 63.7 percent shooting at the rim ranked better than some of the best finishers in NBA history during their rookie campaigns: Tony Parker (58.9 percent), Dwyane Wade (58.2), Kyrie Irving (61.4), and even LeBron James (60.4). No one in the league can extend to avoid a shot blocker more effortlessly than Mitchell, and that ability, along with an improving floater, is going to be impossible for any rotating big man to stop.

Mitchell is a uniquely talented player who has shown he has the ability to impact the game to a great degree with his scoring in a variety of ways. His ability to finish through contact has been a strong attribute of his.

The 21-year-old has become in many regards a top-tier scorer in the league after just one season, as he has shown that he can excel with that huge offensive responsibility while taking it to the next level in the playoffs. To the level it saw him pass the likes for Hall of Famer Michael Jordan for most points scored in his first two career playoff games.

With a full offseason under his belt to further hone his craft, Mitchell has a chance to take his game to the next level this upcoming season while helping make the Jazz into a true contender in the Western Conference.
