The NBA community tuned in to watch Los Angles Lakers superstar LeBron James pass Lakers legend Kobe Bryant on the all-time scoring list on Saturday night, including LeBron's best friend and former teammate, Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade.

In typical fashion, Wade kept it short for his buddy while telling James to “keep going” on his scoring quest:

LeBron passed Bryant with a running layup in the third quarter of the Lakers' 108-91 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers, and promptly received a standing ovation from the crowd during a timeout.

Kobe tweeted shortly after the moment occurred, and he has said numerous times he would personally call James to congratulate him on the achievement.

Like Bryant, Wade is also watching his former colleague in retirement. Flash and King James still have close linkage, of course, as their sons both play at Sierra Canyon High School in Los Angeles. But they will always be remembered for changing the landscape of NBA history when they formed the Big Three in South Beach at the start of the 2010s.

LeBron scored close to 8,000 points with the Heat, but the team accomplishments matter more. James captured his first championship alongside his best friend, mostly because Wade was willing to take a lesser role despite posing as the face of the franchise for nearly a decade. Of course, the pair would win another ring and cap off a run of four straight NBA Finals appearances before James returned to Cleveland.

Dwyane Wade has spoken at length about the respect he has for LeBron James' overall conditioning and consistency through the years, two factors that have helped him reach such lofty milestones.
