Retired NBA icon Dwyane Wade recently bared his thoughts on the possibility of a potential Los Angeles Lakers versus Miami Heat NBA Finals. Both squads are now just one win away from winning their respective conferences, as the Heat hold a commanding 3-1 lead over the Boston Celtics, while the Lakers are also up 3-1 against the Denver Nuggets.

Speaking with ESPN's Stephen A. Smith on Friday, The Flash was asked about the possible clash between two of the most enigmatic figures in the league — Heat President Pat Riley and Lakers superstar LeBron James. Wade, of course, knows these two fine gentlemen at heart, as they won multiple championships during their time together in Miami.

Wade, who now spends his days as an analyst for TNT, made it clear that the meeting is not set in stone yet since Denver and Boston have proven to be capable of coming back from great odds. However, the 3-time NBA champion agreed that a Lakers-Heat finale does have quite the narrative if it happens.

“We know the personal feelings for both guys when it comes to both organizations,” Wade said of Riley and James. “The success that they had in both places. How amazing would it be for these two franchises to meet up at this time? With Riley's young team that he's been building up. LeBron is in his 17th year and still the best player in the game, overall. This is the perfect time. Of course, they want to beat each other. Why wouldn't they?”

While Dwyane Wade does have an affinity for both Pat Riley and LeBron James, it appears that he will side with the boys from South Beach if this likely Finals match-up comes to fruition. The Lakers have been pegged as title favorites since the beginning of the season, while not a lot of people predicted that the Heat would have lasted this long in the playoffs.
