NBA icon Dwyane Wade has spoken about Carmelo Anthony, particularly on how he's ‘very disappointed' that his close buddy is not in the league.

Wade believes that Anthony does not deserve to be in this position. He highlighted Anthony's legendary career in the Olympics — how he has done so much for the country and the fact that he carried the torch for the game of basketball.

Wade hopes that Anthony gets to end his career in his own terms.

“He’s a brother of mine and a great friend and I’m just very disappointed that he’s not in the NBA because he doesn’t deserve that as a person,” Wade said, per Arash Markazi of the Los Angeles Times. “Melo is one of the best individual people I know and a lot of people don’t know that because things that have been said about him in the past. Hopefully he gets an opportunity to be with a team this season because he has a lot to still offer the right team in the right role and the right situation. I want him to be able to end his career the way he wants to end it. He deserves that as someone who has carried the torch for this game and done so much for the league and Team USA in the Olympics. He deserves better than this.”

With less than a month before training camp, the rumors surrounding Anthony and a possible team have withered down.

Is this a sign that Anthony fans won't their idol play in the 2019-20 season? Or is Anthony sneakily working out a deal? Perhaps only time will tell.

Love him or hate him, everyone can confidently say that Carmelo Anthony still deserves to be in the league.
