ESPN insider Brian Windhorst says Boston Celtics point guard Kyrie Irving and Golden State Warriors small forward Kevin Durant “were like a middle school couple” at NBA All-Star weekend in Charlotte.

Both Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant will become free agents this summer once they decline their 2019-20 player options with their respective teams.

The two stars have been linked to joining the New York Knicks together.

“I was talking to some people who were with Team Free Agent, I mean Team LeBron at All-Star and they said that Kyrie and KD were like a middle school couple that weekend,” Windhorst said on the Hoop Collective podcast. “Eating together. Doing drills together at practice. I'll rebound for you. You rebound for me. I'll post you up. You post me up.

“They went to Miami together after the weekend.”

A video of Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant talking in the hallway before the NBA All-Star game started went viral. Many believe the two superstars were talking about teaming up next season.

Irving, though, said after All-Star weekend people are reading too much into it and that Durant is one of his best friends in the NBA.

This summer in the NBA is going to be so interesting. All eyes are going to be on Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant to see where they choose to play basketball next season.

Knicks fans are hoping the two come to New York to save the franchise.
