Former Duke Blue Devil standout and Oklahoma City Thunder backup Kyle Singler is reportedly leaning on signing with Joventut Badalona, a Spanish basketball club. Sportando posted this interesting development on their official website.

“Kyle Singler has agreed to terms with a Spanish team that could be Joventut Badalona who just parted ways with Quincy Miller, a source told Sportando. Singler has played more than 300 games in the NBA spending the past three seasons with the Thunder.  Singler has been in ACB with Lucentum and Real Madrid.”

Singler was picked by the Detroit Pistons in the second round of the 2011 NBA Draft. But the scoring swingman took his talents to Europe due to the lockout that marred the league that year. He went on to play for CB Luncentum Alicante and Real Madrid for a year, before playing his first game with the Pistons.

But the 6-foot-8 forward did not live up to expectations, and the Pistons decided to ship him to the Oklahoma City Thunder as part of the Reggie Jackson-deal in 2015. He would go on to play four more seasons with the Thunder, but Singler failed to crack a consistent roster spot, especially in the past couple of years.

Still, Singler could prove himself as an effective 3-and-D player, a valuable component of today's faster offensive pace. By honing his game in Spain, Singler would surely gain the confidence he lost since his outstanding four-year college stint with Duke.

The only downside is that Singler is already 30 years old, and the NBA window is quickly closing in on him. His perimeter shooting is still impeccable, but a more improved defensive awareness could bode well for an NBA comeback in the near future.
