Former Golden State Warriors head coach and current ESPN TV commentator Mark Jackson says Carmelo Anthony should be on an NBA team.

Carmelo Anthony last played in an NBA game on Nov. 8, 2018 with the Houston Rockets. Houston exiled Anthony after that game and traded the 10-time All-Star to the Chicago Bulls in January. The Bulls then waived Anthony in February.

In 10 games with the Rockets, Anthony averaged 13.4 points and 5.4 rebounds while shooting 40.5 percent from the field, 32.8 percent from beyond the arc and 68.2 percent from the free-throw line. In 2017-18 with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Melo put up 16.2 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists while shooting 40.4 percent overall, 35.7 percent from the 3-point line and 76.7 percent from the charity stripe.

It would be nice to see Carmelo Anthony retire on his own terms. He's earned the right to do that after having a Hall of Fame career. Hopefully, there's a team out there which gives Anthony a chance for this upcoming season.

Anthony is one of the best scorers in NBA history. He has career averages of 24.0 points. Melo was the 2013 scoring champion when he averaged 28.7 points with the New York Knicks.

Mark Jackson hasn't gotten another NBA job since he was fired by the Warriors. Some believe Anthony and Jackson have been blackballed by the league.
