Former Golden State Warriors point guard Jarrett Jack still hopes to play for an NBA team this season, which is why he's decided to take his talents and play in the G-League.

Signing a G-League contract means that Jack is eligible to be claimed off of waivers by any team who is already in or is trying to make the playoffs.

The 35-year-old guard last played for the New York Knicks last season, averaging 7.5 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 5.6 assists in 62 games. He was invited by the New Orleans Pelicans to training camp before waiving him before the season began.

Jack, the 22nd overall pick in the 2005 NBA draft, had great stints with the Indiana Pacers and the Golden State Warriors, serving both as a back-up guard and a veteran leader. He's hoping to be able to make the same contributions to any team who will be interested in bringing him in.

However, most of the contending teams' rosters are set, while others are looking forward to rebuilding this offseason, it is unclear if Jack will be able to play in the NBA again this year.

One team that could shot interest in Jack is the Los Angeles Lakers, who might be in need of a secondary ball handler, as it was announced that Lonzo Ball will need extra time to recover from his ankle injury. However, the Lakers might choose to go after a big man than a guard.

In his 13 years in the NBA, Jack has averaged 10.8 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per game, shooting 44 percent from the field, including 34.3 percent from the 3-point area.
