Outspoken ex-NBA star Gilbert Arenas is never one to bite his tongue or shy away from stating his opinion.

In a video recently posted to Twitter by Ball Don't Stop, Arenas touched on the importance of being put into the right situation with a coach who supports you as a player.

“As a coach you can take confidence away from a player,” Arenas said. “I always tell coaches, what's scarier? A Pit Bull on a leash or a Pit Bull that's walking by himself?”

He went on to say.

“As a coach, you've just got to let your Pit Bull's go. You want them to explore their talent.”

That is a valid point shared by many athletes, including Jamaal Crawford who chimed in on his Twitter account (@JCrossover) in agreement with Arenas.

“I tell kids at my camps this all time. Not always just about talent, in some situations, you are as good or as bad as the coach u play for.” Crawford tweeted in response to Ball Don't Stop's video.

It is definitely an interesting exercise to think about.

Everyone knows how talented you must be just to make it to the NBA, so there has to be potential All-Stars who were put into bad situations that stunted their growth.

Just as there are numerous players who many think thrive due to the system they are in, there may be even more who are failing due to their situation.

Arenas may say a lot via social media, but that doesn't mean many of his points aren't valid.
