Apparently, Arenas plays the lottery regularly, choosing the same numbers from the same gas station in Calabasas. However, when he went to purchase his ticket on Tuesday, he realized he was running out of gas.

Arena then stopped at a gas station on the way there. When he went to go fill up his gas tank, he was approached by a homeless man asking for money.

The former NBA star explained his situation to the man, cirting that he had only $10 and a little bit of time to get to his preferred gas station to purchase his lottery ticket. However, after some discussion, Arenas decided to give him $5. However, the man refused the money and told Arenas, “keep the $10 and after you win, hook me up with $20. I know you're going to win.”

By the time Arenas got to his preferred gas station, it was already closed. The next morning, Arenas received a text on his phone telling him he won $300,000. The ex-Washington Wizards standout thought it was a scam because he never purchased his lottery ticket, so he ignored the text.

The same day, Arenas went back to his go-to gas station in Calabasas. As he was there, the owner ran out of the store and said: “You won, I texted you!”

Arenas was confused because he never got the chance to purchase his ticket. The owner explained to him that he knew the numbers he plays and decided to choose them for the former NBA player since the store closed early. Arenas then went back to the homeless man and gave him some money.

While Gilbert Arenas didn't disclose the amount he gave, it was enough for the man to cry and hug him long and tight.
