Hasheem Thabeet continues his quest for an NBA comeback. After working out with the Milwaukee Bucks and Denver Nuggets, the veteran center is now scheduled for a workout with an “Eastern Conference team.” Furthermore, according to Ben Stinar of Amico Hoops, Thabeet's camp will also try to get a chance with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Hasheem Thabeet last played in the NBA for the Oklahoma City Thunder from 2012 to 2014. The 7-foot-3 big man was selected with the second overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft by the Memphis Grizzlies after a three-year stint with UConn.

However, Thabeet had trouble sticking in games and quickly bounced around the league, first being traded to the Houston Rockets in 2011 and Portland Trail Blazers the next year. Thabeet had only spent one-and-a-half season with the Grizzlies before being dealt. He played two seasons and 89 regular-season games for the Thunder before being traded in 2014 and waived twice — first by the Philadelphia 76ers and then the Detroit Pistons.

Since then, Thabeet played professionally in Japan with the Yokohama B-Corsairs.

The Lakers are looking for help at the center position after DeMarcus Cousins suffered an ACL tear while practicing over the summer. JaVale McGee is only the team's true center, though the Purple and Gold have reportedly explored getting Dwight Howard.
