With a lot of coaching jobs starting to open up, there are a ton of candidates that are going to get a chance to be interviewed. One of the guys that is going to get a ton of looks is former NBA player Jerry Stackhouse.

According to Shams Charania of Yahoo! Sports, Stackhouse is expected to interview soon with the Charlotte Hornets, Orlando Magic, and the New York Knicks.

For Stackhouse, he is an up and coming coaching prospect and most believe it's only a matter of time before he will be a head coach of an NBA team.

After starting his coaching career as an assistant with the Toronto Raptors in 2015, he became the head coach of the Raptors 905, the G-League team of the Toronto Raptors in 2016. In 2017, he was named the G-League Coach of the Year after leading the Raptors 905 to the title.

For Stackhouse, he already has a big connection with the Hornets. Owner Michael Jordan and GM Mitch Kupchak both went to North Carolina, the same school Stackhouse played his college ball.

For Stackhouse, he got his start as a really good NBA player. He played in 970 games averaging 16.9 points, 3.3 assists and 3.2 rebounds per game.

His best year was the 2000-01 season with the Detroit Pistons. He played in 80 games, averaging 29.8 points, 5.1 assists, and 3.8 rebounds per game.

It will be interesting to see if one of these three teams make him their next head coach, but if they don't, it seems like it's only a matter of time before he gets his chance.
