Isaiah Thomas wasn't a fan of ESPN calling Derrick Rose's 50-point game on Halloween back in 2018 “vintage” since he believes the former NBA MVP never lost his talents.

Derrick Rose's 50-point game was special for a couple of reasons. Not only did the youngest MVP in NBA history score a career-high 50 points after undergoing four knee surgeries, but Rose scored the 50 points on the Utah Jazz, the team that waived him during the 2017-18 season.

Rose and Isaiah Thomas were teammates for a little bit on the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2017-18 before the team made a bevy of trades at the 2018 trade deadline. The Cavs shipped Thomas to the Los Angeles Lakers and Rose to the Jazz.

After the Jazz waived Rose, the three-time NBA All-Star was on the open market for a while before the Minnesota Timberwolves signed him. The rest is history, as Rose played well in the 2018 playoffs, scored 50 points against the Jazz in 2018, finished the 2018-19 season with averages of 18.0 points per game and put up 18.1 points a night with the Detroit Pistons in 2019-20.

Basketball is all about fit and opportunity and Thomas always knew Rose could succeed with the right team. Rose fans are thrilled their favorite player is once again one of the best guards in the NBA.

Now, Thomas fans are hoping IT can get back into the league and have his own redemption story. He began the 2019-20 season with the Washington Wizards and was then traded to the Los Angeles Clippers. The Clippers waived Thomas, who wasn't picked up by anyone.

It will be interesting to see if Thomas signs with a team this offseason.
