NBA free agent point guard Isaiah Thomas may not be playing with a team right now, regardless of the league's coronavirus-forced hiatus, but that doesn't mean the two-time All-Star wants to quit or retire.

“I have a lot left in the tank and my goal has always been to play until 40 [years old], and I'm going to try everything I can to reach that,” Isaiah Thomas said, via NBC Sports Washington.

“I didn't take any days off and that was a positive from where I was coming from. It had been two years since I could get better each and every day and not take any days off, and that big for me.”

Thomas played 40 games with the Washington Wizards during the 2019-20 NBA season before being traded to and subsequently waived by the Los Angeles Clippers at the Feb. 6 deadline. IT did not sign with any team afterwards as he sought to play for a playoff contender, too.

The former final pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, Thomas saw his star rise after landing with the Boston Celtics, finding himself selected to back-to-back All-Star Games while leading the Atlantic Division squad in the playoffs and at one point averaging a hair over 28 points per game.

Following the Kyrie Irving trade with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Thomas lost a step playing on LeBron James' team. He has since played for four different franchises over the course of the last three seasons.

Despite Thomas' recent hardships, he continues to pursue an NBA career, and in his words, wants to keep playing until age 40.
