Following a list of projected point guards of this upcoming 2016-17 NBA season, James Harden of the Houston Rockets and Klay Thompson of the Golden State Warriors once again come as first and second on HoopsHype's projected Top 30 list.

Harden was once again a runner-up for the Most Valuable Player award, having displayed the ability to bloom as a facilitator in Mike D'Antoni's point-guard-dominant offensive system. The veteran guard led the league with an impressive 11.2 assists per game and still managed a career-high of 29.1 points per game through his high-usage venture.

Thompson, who was supposed to be the man giving up the most shots with the addition of Kevin Durant, somehow got a career-high in scoring with 22.3 points per game, doing so with excellent efficiency with a .468/.414/.853 shooting line. His best asset shined brightly when needed the most, proving to be the best two-way player at his position and defending flawlessly in the playoffs, despite being mired in shooting struggles.
