Jason Kidd and Steve Nash are among the finalists for the Naismith Basketball 2018 Hall of Fame induction ceremony, according to a report from Michael Lee of Yahoo! Sports:

Nash, now 44 years of age, has loads of accolades to his credit, including two league MVPs, eight All-Star selections, and three NBA First Team nods. The Canadian ball-handler led the NBA in assists five times (2005–2007, 2010, 2011). Drafted by the Phoenix Suns with the 15th overall pick in the 1996 Draft, Nash went on to play 1,217 games over the course of his career, averaging 14.3 points on 49.0 percent shooting from the field (42.8 percent from beyond the arc), 8.5 assists, and 3.0 rebounds — all while knocking down 90.4 percent of his free-throws.
Nash (10,335) is currently holding the No. 3 spot on the NBA's all-time assists list, just behind Kidd (12,091), his fellow Hall of Fame hopeful.
Kidd, 44, is also one of the greatest point guards to have ever graced an NBA court. “J-Kidd,” as came to be known, is a champion (2011, Dallas Mavericks), a 10-time All-Star, and five-time All-NBA First Team selection (four-time All-Defensive First Team). Over the course of his 19-year career in the league, Kidd racked up averages of 12.6 points on 40.0 percent shooting from the field (34.9 percent from downtown), 8.7 assists, and 6.3 rebounds.
Like a thief in the night, Kidd (2,684) is currently holding the No. 2 spot on the NBA's all-time steals list. Only the great John Stockton (3,265) can boast more takeaways.
