Jason Kidd and Vince Carter were a lethal dynamic duo on the New Jersey Nets. And while they never won a title together, Kidd and Carter forged a long-lasting bond.

On Thursday, Kidd took to Twitter to congratulate Carter on his retirement from basketball. The legendary point guard is ready to see Carter join him in the Hall of Fame next.

Vince Carter finishes his illustrious NBA career with averages of 16.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists. He made eight All-Star teams and won the 1999 Rookie of the Year Award with the Toronto Raptors. Carter averaged 18.3 points, 5.7 boards and 3.0 assists for Toronto during the 1998-99 lockout year.

Jason Kidd made the Hall of Fame in 2018. Carter will be joining Kidd there one day. Kidd, who won the 2011 title with the Dallas Mavericks, put up 12.6 points, 6.3 rebounds and 8.7 assists in the NBA.

Carter never had interest in ring chasing toward the end of his NBA career because it didn't fit his personality. Vinsanity wanted to win a title the right way and he was content if he never got the chance to get a ring so long as he was sticking to his values.

One of the best dunkers in NBA history, Carter will forever be a legend in the basketball space. His performance in the 2000 Slam Dunk contest will likely be talked about forever.
