Jay Williams is picking Los Angeles Clippers forwards Kawhi Leonard and Paul George as the best duo in the NBA this season, while his good friend Jalen Rose is going with Los Angeles Lakers stars LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

The battle for Los Angeles is going to be epic this season with Leonard and George going up against James and Davis. Both the Clippers and Lakers are title contenders at the same time, the first time this has happened in Los Angeles.

The Clippers have good depth, but they will go as far as Kawhi Leonard and Paul George can guide them.

Leonard averaged 26.6 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists for the Toronto Raptors last season. He shot 49.6 percent from the field, 37.1 percent from beyond the arc, 85.4 percent from the free-throw line and won his second Finals MVP award.

George, meanwhile, put up 28.0 points, 8.2 rebounds and 4.1 assists in 2018-19 on the Oklahoma City Thunder while shooting 43.8 percent from the floor, 38.6 percent from the 3-point line and 83.9 percent from the charity stripe. The six-time All-Star is still recovering from two offseason shoulder injuries.

Michael Jordan has the best player efficiency rating in NBA history at 27.91. Want to take a guess who is number two and three on that list? LeBron James is second at 27.59 and Anthony Davis is third at 27.42.

So essentially, the Lakers have two of the most efficient scorers in NBA history on their roster. Not bad.

James averaged 27.4 points, 8.5 rebounds and 8.3 assists in 55 games last season while shooting 51.0 percent from the field, 33.9 percent from beyond the arc and 66.5 percent from the free-throw line. The four-time MVP missed 17 consecutive games due to a groin injury he suffered on Christmas against the Golden State Warriors.

Had James not sustained that injury, the Lakers probably make the playoffs.

For the New Orleans Pelicans in 2018-19, Davis put up 25.9 points, 12.0 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 2.4 blocks in 56 games. The six-time All-Star shot 51.7 percent from the floor, 33.1 percent from the 3-point line and 79.4 percent from the charity stripe.

It's going to be a lot of fun watching Leonard and George and LeBron and Davis try and lead their respective teams to the championship this season.
