An NBA photographer has been relieved of his post after sharing a highly-offensive meme targeting Democratic party vice-presidential nominee Kamala Harris. A veteran photographer named Bill Baptist decided to post an overly misogynistic message degrading the character of Harris on his own Facebook page, and unfortunately for him, the NBA caught wind of his tasteless act.

Baptist's post went viral after WNBA legend Sheryl Swoopes shared it, while also sending a very strong message against Baptist and his completely unacceptable meme. Below is a screencap of the post in question:

Swoopes was obviously triggered by the post, and made sure to speak her mind against Baptist.

“So this guy works for the NBA but covers the Houston Rockets. Has been around for a while. Even worked for the Houston Comets. It’s amazing how people will smile in your face but eventually their true colors will show.” Swoopes said in her post (h/t Utkarsh Bhatla of The Sports Rush).

Swoopes then called on the Rockets and the NBA to terminate Baptist's contract with their respective organizations. She ended her rant by telling Baptist “Shame on you!”

As it turns out, Baptist is/was actually inside the Disney World bubble when he posted this meme on his Facebook page. The NBA caught wind of his activity on social media and acted swiftly by firing him for his unprofessional behavior. The NBA came out with their own statement on the Baptist issue, saying how they have now parted ways with the photographer.

“The photographer is an independent contractor and his services are no longer being used in Orlando.”

In this day and age, everything you do online can be used against you. Baptist learned this the hard way.
