A lot of people rejoiced when the NBA managed to resume its 2019-20 campaign, but it seems Kanye West is not impressed.

In a tweet on Monday, the Grammy award-winning rapper posted a series of interesting verses. The most controversial of it all, however, is a line where he called the league and the music industry as “modern day slave ships”.

At first glance, Yeezy's tweet looks like he is promoting some lyrics for possibly a new song that's about to come out.  However, the 43-year-old hip-hop icon also said in a now-deleted tweet that he won't be releasing any more music until his contracts with Sony and Universal are up.

It remains unclear what prompted Kanye West to criticize the NBA or what exact issue that he wants to address here. Yeezy, after all, is a big fan of the sport and has been spotted numerous times sitting courtside during games alongside his wife Kim Kardashian.

In fact, West even recently flexed his 100-foot TV screen while watching Game 7 of the Boston Celtics versus Toronto Raptors East semis series.

The NBA, meanwhile, has been criticized by some parties in the past for continuing the season despite the United States' current state brought upon by the pandemic and social unrest. Kanye might be pertaining to this issue in his tweet. But heck, Kanye also called himself “The New Moses,” so no one really knows exactly what's going on inside his head.

Kanye does have a bone to pick with Universal and Sony due to that ongoing contract dispute, but it's quite mind-boggling why he decided to take a shot at the NBA.  This right here is just another entry to Kanye's bizarre behavior as of late.
