Like several NBA superstars today, Hall of Famer Kevin Garnett most likely felt a lot of emotions after hearing the sudden passing of rapper DMX.

After all, Garnett–who recently published his book called “KG: A to Z”–dedicated a tribute for one of the most known rappers of all time in his work.

Kevin Garnett attributes his NBA style of play to DMX, who was known for his loud and “in your face” music. Sadly, the rapper passed away due to a heart attack last April 9, which was surprising and awful news to hear. The rapper was known for the several albums he released over the years, including one of the most successful one “And then there was X” which was nominated for a Grammy.

DMX also sold millions of albums featuring his famous hit “Get At Me Dog” in 1998, “Party Up” in 1999 and “X Gon’ Give It to Ya” in 2003. Aside from music, DMX also took his talents to Hollywood where he starred in films like “Romeo Must Die” and “Cradle 2 The Grave.” His recent gig happened in July 2020 when DMX appeared in a Verzuz battle with fellow rapper Snoop Dogg.

It’s easy to see the similarities of Garnett’s personality on the NBA court with DMX. Both seem to be the passionate personalities who are outspoken about what they really feel. This is what made KG one of the best power forwards of all time.

The one-time champion with the Boston Celtics played 21 seasons in the NBA and is only one of the five players to win both the Most Valuable Player award and Defensive Player of the Year award.
