Former New York Knicks and Denver Nuggets superstar Carmelo Anthony has since fallen from grace in a major way. While his buddies LeBron James and Chris Paul continue to play at a high level, Anthony remains a free agent with no team seemingly interested in picking him up.

As a result, Anthony's wife, La La Anthony, has since spoken out in defense of her husband, who is looking to return to the fold ahead of the 2019-20 campaign.

Since serving lengthy stints with both the New York Knicks and Denver Nuggets, the now 34-year-old Anthony has been a part of the Oklahoma City Thunder, Atlanta Hawks, Houston Rockets and Chicago Bulls — technically speaking, anyway. While Anthony never actually suited up for the Hawks or Bulls, his respective stays in both OKC and Houston were incredibly short-lived as well.

With his game seriously deteriorating with the Thunder and especially as a member of the Rockets to begin the 2018-19 campaign, Anthony was ultimately unable to latch on with another NBA franchise before the season came to a close. Nonetheless, he was linked to the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Clippers, Miami Heat and several other teams throughout the course of the season, which could be a good sign for him going forward.

However, it remains to be seen as to whether or not Carmelo Anthony ever sees the court again.
