Colin Cowherd isn't buying either the Los Angeles Lakers or Houston Rockets when it comes to winning it all this year.

The FOX Sports host gave his hot take after Game 2 between both squads as the Lakers knotted their best-of-seven series at one apiece. Cowherd believes that though these two teams will give fans an exciting series, neither of them have what it takes to bring home the Larry O'Brien Trophy:

“What last night showed me was, these are pretty good teams. They're good teams. But neither one of these teams can win a championship. That's what it showed me last night. ” Cowherd said.

Before getting to the Lakers, Cowherd first went on to roast Rockets starting guard Russell Westbrook and called him the “most out of control star in the league.” The host feels that in Westbrook's 12-year career in the NBA, he has failed to be consistently good and efficient for any of his teams, which has ultimately resulted in playoff exits.

Cowherd basically said the Rockets can't win the title because of him:

“He's 42% from the free-throw stripe, so what that tells you now is that it's all in his head.” Cowherd said of the former MVP. “If that's your No. 2 player, and he is, you're not a championship team.”

For what it's worth, Westbrook has been recorded a nearly 80% clip from the free-throw line in his 12 years in the NBA. He's now shooting at 46.7% in his six playoff games so far this season.

On the other hand, Cowherd didn't mince his words when talking about the “old” Lakers, who finished the regular season with a conference-best record of 52-19. He mentions that the Lakers are putting way too much pressure on LeBron James, who has been ridiculous in Year 17. The problem, per Cowherd, is that no one is stepping up to be the third Lakers star to help out both James and Anthony Davis.

Both James and Davis have both stepped up for the Lakers all season long, but it'll be interesting to see who takes on the role of this s0-called “third star” and consistently carries the load for the Lakers' supporting cast.

Game 3 between the Rockets and the Lakers tips off on Tuesday.
