When a story involves Lamar Odom, people tend to believe it no matter how crazy it might sound. Most recently, fans and media latched onto reports that Odom was kidnapped by a bookie and being held ransom for his gambling debts. Fortunately, these reports were not true.

Odom included a healthy amount of crying laughing emojis and eyes emojis to make sure his point was well received. Odom's a frequent topic for the tabloids due to his connection to Khloe Kardashian as well as his battles with substance abuse. He even recently revealed just how close to death he was when he was found unresponsive in a Nevada brothel.
But despite his penchant for finding himself in the tabloids, Odom is flat out refuting this story. The two-time NBA champion has had his ups and downs in retirement — including a stint in rehab for substance abuse — but even this story seems too far out in left field.
During the summer, Odom stated that he would be playing basketball in China this year. It's unclear what team he will be playing for, but it sounds like he's more focused on basketball than evading potential kidnappers. Hopefully, we see the former NBA star back out on the court soon.
