The NBA has launched NBA Together, a global community and social engagement campaign that aims to support, engage, educate, and inspire youth, families, and fans in response to the global coronavirus pandemic.

According to a Friday press release, the program is centered on four pillars: Know the Facts, Acts of Caring, Expand Your Community and NBA Together Live. The league is hoping to amplify the latest global health and safety information, share guidelines and resources for managing the crisis, and keep people and communities connected through digital tools and virtual events to help deal with the effects of the pandemic.

“Know the Facts” will dispel myths and share some truths about COVID-19, informing fans as to how best combat infection and what actions to take to keep this virus from spreading.

“Acts of Caring” will center around NBA players, fans and the general public, encouraging them to share some ways in which they support friends, families, and communities by posting photos and videos with the hashtag #NBATogether on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.

“Expand Your Community” will include the launch of “Jr. NBA at Home,” a new interactive content series for those who are unable to play with their friends and teammates, but still want to be active, work on their game and connect with the NBA world.

“NBA Together Live” consists of a member of the NBA family engaging with fans globally at 3 p.m. ET, participating in a live interview with an NBA broadcast talent or taking questions from fans on Instagram Live. That initiative will start this Friday with Kevin Love of the Cleveland Cavaliers to tip off the series.

This new set of initiatives is just one way in which the NBA is attempting to use its platform in a positive manner during this unprecedented global crisis.
