The best young basketball recruits in the world will finally get a chance to join the big leagues on November 18, as the NBA finally set the date for the highly anticipated 2020 Draft.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski broke the news on Twitter on Tuesday after initial reports stated that the draft would commence on the 16th.

The Nets were supposed to play hosts on draft night at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, but the event was moved to ESPN's facilities in Bristol, Connecticut due to the pandemic.

Similar to the 2020 NFL Draft held last April, the NBA also decided to hold the event through a video conference to follow social distancing protocols. This will be the first time since 1975 that the draft is not held in June.

The Minnesota Timberwolves will have first dibs after emerging as the big winners of the NBA Draft lottery last month. The Golden State Warriors, Charlotte Hornets, Chicago Bulls, and Cleveland Cavaliers round out the Top 5, respectively.

University of Georgia standout Anthony Edwards is pegged by most pundits as the first name off the board in November. James Wiseman, LaMelo Ball, and Obi Toppin are expected to go high in the lottery as well.

This year's draft class, meanwhile, is considered not as deep compared to the previous ones in recent years. However, there were also plenty of once unheralded players who emerged as big-time talents despite being picked outside the lottery. The 2020 class will certainly have its fair share of surprises, and teams simply need some good intuition and a bit of luck to find a nice gem.
