The Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers have been one of the most storied rivalries in the NBA. From all their battles, fans of both teams understand what it means to their franchises if they win against them.

That said, it comes as a complete surprise that the NBA even considered selling some shirts of the Lakers infused with the Celtics. While it was part of the St. Patrick’s Day merchandise sold online at the NBA Store, Reddit users still did not hold back in giving their thoughts about the design, via a thread made by user Clipdodgecharge based on the imgur image.

At first glance, it can be thought of as a photoshopped design, given the green color of the shirt and the Lakers logo inside the Shamrock, which the C's have been synonymous to. The Beantown team have made it their own since the launch of their jerseys back in the early 1960s. To be fair to the designers of the St. Patrick's Day themed-jerseys, all teams have their own, all in green with the same Shamrock in the middle. It's just very awkward, to say the least, that the Lakers have the Celtics colors with their merchandise.

It's unclear how the sales went for the green Lakers shirts and how it was patronized by the Los Angeles faithful. However, if it flopped in stores, it wouldn't come as a complete shocker with all the history and the rivalry both teams have had in the past 50 years or so.
