Los Angeles Clippers fans thought Los Angeles Lakers superstar small forward LeBron James fouled Paul George on his final shot attempt on Thursday, but the NBA's Last Two Minute Report says otherwise.

Per the NBA, James rested his forearm on George's front and quickly removed it as George started his upward shooting motion:

Behind James' game-winning putback layup, the Lakers defeated the Clippers by a final score of 103-101 down in Orlando, Florida. The Lakers now have a 6.5-game lead over the Clippers in the Western Conference standings. They've just about wrapped up the No. 1 seed in the West.

The Lakers and Clippers both played sloppy on Thursday, which was to be expected since the NBA was in a hiatus for almost four months due to COVID-19. Lakers star big man Anthony Davis led all scorers with 34 points, while James poured in 16 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists.

The Clippers were playing without Lou Williams and Montrezl Harrell. The fact that they only lost by two points speaks to how lethal this Clippers squad can be in the playoffs once Williams and Harrell are playing.

Most NBA pundits believe the two Los Angeles teams will meet in the 2020 Western Conference Finals. A seven-game series featuring James, Davis, Kawhi Leonard and George would be must-see TV.
