The NBA announced the starting fives for the 2021 All-Star Game on Thursday, with LeBron James and Kevin Durant leading the pack.

James has been a leading vote-getter in each of the last three seasons, and will once again serve as a captain this year despite past grievances about the league holding All-Star festivities.

Durant, meanwhile, immediately rejoins the fray after missing the entirety of the 2019-20 NBA season due to injury. It is only fitting he and LeBron, the very best of their generation, captain opposing teams.

As for the rest of the starters, Denver Nuggets center and MVP candidate Nikola Jokic joins James in the Western Conference frontcourt. Los Angeles Clippers swingman Kawhi Leonard fills things out. The backcourt will be made up of Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry and Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic, who narrowly edged Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard for the second spot.

In the East, reigning two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo and Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid ran away with the other two frontcourt spots. The NBA's leading scorer, Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal, headlines the backcourt. He will be joined by Brooklyn Nets point guard Kyrie Irving.

The modified All-Star weekend will be held on March 7 in Atlanta. Commissioner Adam Silver has stated the league will not sell tickets. There will be no fan attendance or separate parties held in accordance with All-Star weekend.
