Seattle may have lost its SuperSonics over a decade ago but the city has now earned itself a championship courtesy of the WNBA's Storm. Rightfully so, the team's 3-0 sweep of the Washington Mystics in the Finals caught the attention of NBA stars such LeBron James and Kobe Bryant, among others.

Breanna Stewart was the darling of the night as she scored 30 points to pace her team en route to winning Finals MVP honors. It was a convincing 98-82 win for Seattle to capture the franchise's third championship in history. A masked Sue Bird, the oldest player in the league, finished the game with 10 points and 10 assists.

That said, their male counterparts showered the Storm with praises on Twitter.

Of course, all these wouldn't be complete without some love from Seattle's homegrown.

In a Players' Tribune article, Thomas talked about his love for the city of Seattle and how disappointed he is that some fans in the area are going to war for the now-defunct Sonics but forgetting about the Storm in the process.

“I gotta say, as exciting as it is to have the Storm making playoff noise — I’m worried that everyone’s not on the same page. For a while now, I’ve been hearing something that bothers me. It’s when people say things like, ‘There’s no basketball in Seattle anymore.’ Or, like, ‘We need pro basketball back in Seattle.’ They’re talking about how the Sonics are gone. I get that. But I can’t help but hear something else, too: They’re forgetting about the Storm.”

With this dominant conquest, the city can't have a shortage of reasons to not give all-out support to the Storm.
