DeMar DeRozan of the San Antonio Spurs recalled a LeBron James story during the former's stint with the Toronto Raptors. Channing Frye, who was James' teammate during that time, confirmed the story to be true.

Via Twitter, Frye confirmed the story of James instructing a Raptors player about their very own play. He added that he might have been on the court and saw it actually happen before him.

DeRozan recalled his stint with the Raptors, particularly his duels with LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers. With all due respect to all the teams in the East, DeRozan and his teammates knew very well that James-led teams were the ones to beat. If they can beat the Cavaliers in a seven-game series, then they knew that they have a legitimate shot at the title.

DeRozan and the Raptors actually had three battles with the James-led Cavaliers in the postseason. The first was in the 2016 Eastern Conference Finals where they were booted out in six games. And in the 2017 and 2018 Eastern Semis, the Cavaliers swept them.

It was only when James flocked to the Western Conference that the Raptors were able to reach the NBA Finals. Unfortunately, DeRozan wasn't a part of this campaign as he was traded to the Spurs.

DeRozan's story can be added to one of the many James' stories about the latter's supreme basketball IQ. James' very own teammates have shared their own story. And like DeRozan, they're in awe of the basketball mind of King James.
