Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James will be the latest star athlete to be the subject of an ESPN docuseries. But as opposed to a “Last Dance”-esque revisitation of James' prolific accomplishments on the hardwood, the next installment of ESPN's “Backstory” series will center on one of the more criticized moments of James' life in the NBA: his infamous “The Decision” special.

According to People, the upcoming episode of “Backstory”which documents various sports controversies based on investigations by Don Van Natta Jr. — will examine the “far-reaching consequences” of “The Decision.”

The episode will debut on Sunday, June 28 at 9 p.m. EST.

In July 2010, James shocked the sports world by announcing that he would be leaving the team of his home state, the Cleveland Cavaliers, to take his talents to South Beach in order to join buddies Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh with the Miami Heat. James and his team's decision to make the announcement during an interview with Jim Gray on national television at the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich, Connecticut was sharply derided, especially considering he didn't give the Cavaliers a heads-up beforehand (though it did raise $2.5 million for the Boys & Girls Club).

James would win not one, not three, but two titles (2012, 2013) in four seasons in Miami, making the NBA Finals each year.

The much-maligned and much-hyped hour of television drew massive ratings. Nielsen estimated nearly 10 million people tuned in live to see where James would be playing basketball in 2010-11.

Previous episodes of this ESPN docuseries include “Banned for Life*” and “Serena vs. The Umpire.”
