Los Angeles Lakers superstar and future NBA Hall of Famer LeBron James and New Orleans Pelicans rookie Zion Williamson have yet to meet each other.

Williamson and James faced off in the NBA for the first time this week, but they never had an on-court moment. The Lakers and Pelicans play each other again on Sunday, this time in New Orleans.

There is no personal relationship between LeBron James and Zion Williamson. At all.

“I guess we haven’t crossed paths,” Zion said Friday, after scoring 24 points in an easy win over LeBron’s old team, the Cleveland Cavaliers.

“I’ve never met him,” LeBron said. “I never met him before. Never. Never had a conversation with him. Never met him before.”

There is no doubt Zion is the most hyped player in the NBA since LeBron came into the league back in 2003. So far, the Pelicans youngster has shown the potential to dominate the league for the next decade or so, especially if he stays healthy.

Through his first 14 NBA games, Williamson is averaging 23.4 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists. He is also shooting 58.1 percent from the field, 41.7 percent from beyond the arc and 62.6 percent from the free-throw line.

To compare Williamson's early start of his career to LeBron, James averaged 17.4 points, 6.6 rebounds and 6.1 assists through his first 14 NBA games.

It would be so fun to see the Pelicans and Lakers face off in the first round of the playoffs. All signs point toward the Lakers getting the No. 1 seed in the West, while the Pelicans are only two games behind the Memphis Grizzlies for the eighth and final playoff spot out West.
